Why Use 360° Photos?

Publication date:

Wondering why 360-degree photos are talked about so much? Is it just a passing trend or a lasting solution? 360-degree photos offer a unique opportunity to capture entire spaces, landscapes, and scenes in one frame. Imagine the difference between photographing a beach with a regular camera compared to using a 360-degree camera. A regular camera is limited to capturing the space you see through the viewfinder, about 90° or so. A 360 camera captures the entire scene, allowing you to look up at the sky, at the sand dunes behind you, and out to the sea in front of you, all in one seamless image.

You’ve probably used Google Street View to explore different places around the world, and 360-degree photos can be viewed in the same way. In fact, companies have been using 360-degree photos for years to create immersive virtual tours of their facilities. You can also share your 360-degree photos on platforms like Google Street View, allowing others to virtually explore your captured scenes.

Given that major companies like Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr are integrating support for 360-degree photos into their photo-sharing services, it's clear that 360-degree photography has become indispensable.
